OSPAR Commission - Secretariat/Staff
The OSPAR Commission Secretariat facilitates the work of the Contracting Parties by supporting and organising an annual cycle of meetings together with intersessional work programmes (how OSPAR works).
The international staff comprises an Executive Secretary, four Deputy Secretaries and seven Assistants.

The tenure for OSPAR Secretaries (Executive and Deputies) is normally for a period of six years. These positions are advertised internationally as vacancies arise. The OSPAR Commission applies co-ordinated international staff regulations.
The OSPAR Commission also offers a limited number of student internships for higher degree and research students undertaking relevant professional placements. No financial support is available for these posts but wherever possible student interns are included as members of the Secretariat at relevant meetings, within internal discussions and they undertake projects related to current work programmes.
The OSPAR Secretariat is based in the UK, at offices in central London.
