Group of Jurists & Linguists

The Group of Jurists and Linguists is a subsidiary body of the OSPAR Commission. As its name suggests, its remit only involves legal and linguistic considerations. It plays an important role in the formulation of advice on draft OSPAR Decisions and Recommendations before the OSPAR Heads of Delegation meeting decides to forward them to the OSPAR Commission for adoption. The Group of Jurists and Linguists also provides advice on the interpretation and application of the OSPAR Convention. Examples of its function are:
