OSPAR's Quality Status Report 2023 Friday Ocean Findings Issue 20
This week's Friday Ocean Findings focuses on 4 habitats that have been assessed as being in poor overall status in the North-East Atlantic. These habitats are dense in biodiversity and their removal or damage may affect the populations of associated species that call these habitats home.

These highly vulnerable habitats are on OSPAR's list of threatened and/or declining species and habitats and are affected by pressures such as fishing impacts, eutrophication, coastal development and climate change.

These status assessments are components of OSPAR’s Quality Status Report (QSR) 2023. The QSR will examine the current state of the marine environment and ecosystems, and the human activities benefiting from the marine environment and interacting with it.
