| | Ahead of OSPAR's biodiversity and ecosystems meeting next week, Week 11 of #FridayOceanFindings brings together the latest assessments of the sharks on our list of threatened and/or declining species. Our cartilaginous friends have suffered due to persecution, over fishing and bycatch and populations are slow to recover. Read our latest assessments which include details of measures taken by OSPAR Contracting Parties to protect these species.
These assessments are components of OSPAR’s Quality Status Report (QSR) 2023. The QSR is a holistic assessment of the North-East Atlantic and will examine the current state of the marine environment and ecosystems, and the human activities benefiting from the marine environment and interacting with it.
We hope you enjoy these reports. Please do contact us with any comments at [email protected] | | | | |
