2ND COORDINATION MEETING OF THE OCEANWISE PROJECT

12 October 2018

The OSPAR Commission was present at the 2nd coordination meeting of the OceanWise project, which took place in the CEDRE facilities, in Brest (France), from 9 to 11 of October.

This project, funded by INTERREG ATLANTIC AREA, deals with marine litter in a circular economy perspective, focused exclusively on expanded polystyrene (EPS) products and applications with likelihood to become marine litter.

OceanWise wants to approach this issue with a wide-view angle, by putting together a multi-sectoral platform to include Governmental bodies responsible for marine environment management, Industry and other stakeholders, waste management authorities, designers, circular economy modellers, I&D specialists in participatory processes, and end-users.

The OSPAR Commission is as Associated Partner of this project, given its close links and potential contributions for the accomplishment of the OSPAR Convention’s Regional Action Plan on Marine Litter.
