Building International Partnerships to Enhance Science-based Ecosystem Approaches

On 27 and 28 November, OSPAR's Executive Secretary attended the ”Building International Partnerships to Enhance Science-based Ecosystem Approaches in Support of Regional Governance” meeting organised by GEF, IOC,UNDP,UNEP,and FAO in Cape Town. The meeting aimed to address the improvement of cross-sectoral, science based approaches to regional ocean governance in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. OSPAR shared its experience on applying science-based ecosystem approaches to improve marine governance and on regional and cross-sectoral collaboration with other entities, in particular with NEAFC under the Collective Arrangement.
