Human activities strategy group

29 November 2018

The Future EIHA NEAES Information- and Knowledge-based Strategy (ICG-Feniks), a subsidiary group of OSPAR's Environmental Impact of Human Activities Committee (EIHA), had its first face to face meeting in Madrid on 27-28 November. This was an opportunity to focus on several cross-cutting pieces of work of interest to the EIHA Committee: the review of the present North-East Atlantic Environment Strategy, objectives for the new Strategy, and planning for assessments on pressures and human activities for the Quality Status Review. The meeting made good progress on all three fronts, in particular developing ideas on key areas for future years and how best to link evidence on pressures on the environment to a more focussed consideration of economic sectors such as fishing and shipping.
