OSPAR's Offshore Industry Committee meets in Dublin

The meeting of the Offshore Industry Committee was held in Dublin at the kind invitation of the Irish government. It was attended by Denmark, the European Commission, Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, and the United Kingdom as well as observers from EOSCA, IOGP and Greenpeace International. The committee discussed the review of Decision 98/3 on the Disposal of Disused Offshore installations and the derogation categories, reviewed the Joint Aseessment and Monitoring Programme and continued OIC work on microplastics.

The meeting agreed on the Report on Discharges, Spills and Emissions from Offshore oil and gas installations 2016 as well as the Country Assessment Reports from Norway and the United Kingdom. Participants thanked the Irish and gave a warm farewell to John Campbell who is retiring after attending OSPAR Committee meetings on behalf of the IOGP for many years.
