OSPAR's Offshore Industry Committee

The Hague, in the Netherlands hosted OSPAR’s Offshore Industry Committee (OIC). The main focus of the meeting was the contribution by OIC to the implementation OSPAR's Joint Assessment and Monitoring Programme.

Cooperation with OSPAR’s other Committees is important for OIC and in this respect OIC’s expertise for undertaking work on underwater noise, which is on EIHA’s agenda, and cooperation with RSC on the discharge of sand from offshore processes were discussed. Finally information from Contracting Parties on national developments/activities in OSPAR Region I (Arctic waters) was considered, as well as progress under the EU offshore safety directive and on other emerging and cross-cutting issues.
