The loss of a dear friend and colleague, Stephan Lutter from WWF

It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of a dear friend and colleague, Stephan Lutter from WWF Germany. Stephan passed away on 22 December 2019.

For very many years Stephan worked with dedication and enthusiasm within OSPAR, sharing his vast knowledge and passion for the sea, in order to support efforts to protect the North-East Atlantic. He is particularly remembered for his contributions in relation to OSPAR’s Network of Marine Protected Areas, but he was also deeply involved in many other areas of OSPAR work.

In addition, he is remembered with immense fondness for his great company and friendship at very many of our meetings since 1993. He will be very sorely missed.
