Action 45: Environmental certification schemes
Action Title: Encourage international environmental certification schemes to include the management and prevention of marine litter in their lists of criteria.

What is the issue?
The intention of this action was to work to ensure that the reduction/ prevention of marine litter was incorporated as a criterion within different environmental certification schemes.
What has OSPAR Done?
There has been progress in uptake of the marine litter issue for example within the marine stewardship council certification and aquaculture certifications in Germany.
