Action Title: Understand the location of litter accumulations

What is the issue?
This action builds on RAP 1 Action 55 to investigate the behaviour of floating litter and understand where it is likely that accumulations or hotspots of litter may occur, either being washed up on the beaches or as floating masses at sea.
What has OSPAR done?
The aim of this task is to provide resources to support the build-up of knowledge about points of accumulation of marine litter and its pathways, including transboundary inputs.
It will be build on the results produced by CleanAtlantic project, namely the CleanAtlantic Marine Litter Transport Tool, which estimates the location of accumulation areas and provided an assessment of the contribution of land and ocean-based sources to their formation.
